This knife lends testament to the quality of Japanese blades. this knife is not only beautiful to hold and to look at, it is also the most efficient chopper I've ever used. Although made of wood, the handle is quite ergonomic and fits very nicely in the hand. the blade is thin, strong, and tapers to an edge so keen that I was initially afraid to use it. it cuts so cleanly and efficiently that I it makes cutting vegetables FUN. I feel that the wooden scabbard is a really nice touch as it allows me to protect the knife without the need for a knife block.
