The white Belle Epoque mohair throw I recently purchased is very light weight and while the label states that it is 100% mohair pile, the blanket it is 78% mohair, 13% wool and 9% nylon--made in South Africa. After living with it for a few seasons, I find it sheds considerably and is so thin that I can see through it. Fine for a temporary purchase but not something that will hold up for years.
