This rug is gorgeous in appearance-it does shed quite a bit and the room needed frequent cleaning the first month or so, but seems to have died down. It does get snagged easily and would NOT do well with dogs. I have 2 dogs and thankfully, this is in the living room, so they have minimal contact with the rug, but they have snagged the rug quite a bit, just from infrequently walking on it or lying on it.
