Purchased this scale in October 2011. The Torrey 40lb price computing scale is the best! Rechargeable battery, quick readout, Front and Back LIGHTED display, large platter, ability to tare repeatedly.
Most digital scales are battery powered (except for label printing scales) or work with a power adapter. The rechargeable battery saves me from buying packs of "D" cells. This scale should pay for itself in battery savings alone.
Quick readout - we weigh things in 0.50 pound increments, this scale doesn't have the half second stall before the weight changes.
Front and back lighted display - None of my other digital scales have a lighted display! makes it very easy to read.
The plastic platter is very large, but a hacksaw blade will cut it to the size that will work best for you. The plastic platter adds a little grip to items you put on the scale. A stainless steel restaurant pan won't slide on this platter.
The ability to tare repeatedly is a feature we use constantly with this scale. You put your bowl on the scale and tare it, add your first ingredient and tare it again, add another and tare it again.
I have since purchase 2 more of these scales but with smaller platters.

We were very impressed when this set came in. It was prettier than expected and nice quality. Unfortunately, the fitted sheet did not fit our (standard)king size bed and the company suggested for us to return the sheet and they would refund us ONCE they proved the sheet was faulty. The comforter had to be washed due to owning a dog and some of the black ink of the graphics smeared and small tears formed. Overall, it's a nice set but be careful if it must be cleaned.

Did my fair share of water filter research, and it was not easy. California State publishes a list of water filters tested by a third party online. From what I have found, the only reason why this filter does not currently meet California State requirements anymore is because the state changed the lead removal percentage. I purchased this set of flatware as a gift for my wife. We are both very pleased with the look and feel of the utensils and serving pieces. They have a solid, heavy feel and they are presentable for entertaining. It is the nicest stainless steel flatware I've ever used. The set is far better than the cheap lightweight stainless utensils you can buy at, say, World Market. I purchased the set from an Amazon Marketplace seller, and it came with a Reed & Barton wooden chest. Unfortunately, the chest is not up to the same quality as the flatware. It's very lightweight and does not accommodate the entire 65-piece set -- the knives do not fit into any of the slots in the chest, and it is small, with only a thin fabric layer inside to protect the pieces. The Waterford Glenridge flatware set can be purchased elsewhere without the chest (for less money) and that's what I would buy if I had to do it again. Hopefully the flatware itself will be as durable as it looks and feels; I will revisit this review if it isn't, but save some money and skip the chest.

Update 9/30/12: I figured out where to store the knives -- there are grooves in the lid of the chest. Accordingly, I'm adding a star (for a total of 4) and I apologize for not figuring that out prior to writing my original review. Of course, my wife found the solution immediately. However, the chest is still more flimsy than I would like and made of cheap, thin wood and fabric. There are fairly prominent seams along the edges of the chest's exterior, where the pieces of wood don't quite fit together. It holds the flatware set, but it's not what you would call heirloom-quality. The flatware itself is excellent and dishwasher-safe (so far), but I would not purchase the chest if I had to do this transaction again.
